A Surprise Snowfall in Santa’s World
Hello my darlings,
It has been such a busy day today, and I can hardly believe how quickly time has flown! Santa and I awoke this morning to the most beautiful, fresh-fallen snow—though I must admit, it was quite a surprise, as our local weather had predicted no snow for a few more days. But the North Pole has a way of doing things in its own time, doesn’t it?
I know many of you are just now entering the crisp days of fall, and some of you are still holding onto the last warmth of summer. But here in Santa’s world at the North Pole, the seasons come and go as swiftly as they are thought of. It’s hard to believe that just two weeks ago we were enjoying the garden, and now we find ourselves in full Christmas mode—gift-making, decorating (most of it done, thankfully!), and, of course, snow!
Preparing for Winter at the North Pole
Last week, Santa was determined to have all the chimneys cleaned before winter truly settled in. He and a crew of elves were busily working on that task, just in time for the cold snap we’ve had this past week. With fires crackling in the fireplaces and the woodstoves, the cottage feels especially cozy now.
We owe our winter wood supply to one of the local elf citizens, Roy, who kindly provides the village with all our wood needs. A wonderful tradition, wouldn’t you say?
Our Winter Night Routine: Cozy Fires and Cold Nights
At night, we keep the fireplace in our bedroom going, and oh, you should hear Santa’s routine! He’s so funny—he insists on a full fire blazing while leaving all the windows wide open. Now, I know what you’re thinking: Why on earth would you open the windows in the middle of winter? Well, Santa loves the feeling of snuggling under a pile of quilts, but he also enjoys the crackle and glow of the fire as it lulls him to sleep.
But here’s the funny part: Santa has cold feet, and while he’s buried under all those blankets, I’m the exact opposite! Just a light sheet is more than enough for me, and I have to stick my feet out from under the covers, or I’ll be overheated in no time. That’s our winter night routine in a nutshell—and we haven’t even mentioned when the dogs decide they want to snuggle in bed with us too!
Snow Globe Magic: A Peek Into My Collection
As I adjust to the new season and all the busy activities it brings, I find myself wandering around the cottage, adding a few extra decorations here and there. After all, Santa’s house can never have too many decorations, can it? I have a couple of collections that I hold dear, and one of them is my cherished snow globe collection. Over the years, dear friends have given me some of these magical globes, and a few I’ve gifted to myself.
Today, instead of sharing a recipe, I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite snow globes with you. The pictures simply don’t do them justice—each one holds its own little world of wonder and magic, though no photo can quite capture that feeling.
Well, my darlings, Santa will be home soon, and no doubt as hungry as a herd of reindeer! I must go tend to his supper. Until next time, stay warm and cozy, and may you find a little magic in your day.
